WHO WE ARE:

Selah Dance Ministry is a collective body of worshippers, using spirit field music and liturgical movements to praise and worship God. “ …and we know that all things work together for good to them that love God. To them who are called according to His purpose”. --- Romans 8:28.  We are not dancers. We are blessed with the gift of dance which is used as a tool to edify and glorify God. “ A mans gifts maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men.” --- Proverbs 18: 16. The spirit of worship is at our very core.  Anyone can praise  but it takes a true worshipper to experience and usher  the very  presence of God.

Mission:
The mission of Selah Dance Ministry Inc. is to minister to music through liturgical movement about the Goodness of God.“ Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your father which is in Heaven”.   St. Matthew 5:16

Purpose:
We purpose in our hearts to build Gods Kingdom, one soul at a time, using praise and worship, liturgical dance and spirit led testimonies to win souls.

Within the Ministry:

Women of Worship:  Women age 17 and up desiring to use their gifts to worship God and  Usher in the presence of God  during regular services.
Nevaeh Praise Dancers:  boys and girls age 5 to 10. This group will learn the importance of prayer and worship, while studying basic technical aspects of  liturgical dance.  Through interactive and meaningful activities, they will gain knowledge and understanding about Selah Dance Ministry.  This group will minister during youth services  and Born Again youth revival/rally’s.
Spirit of Praise: girls age 10 to 17"  This group will consist of those young ladies who display a high level of skill and enthusiasm as well as total joy for the work of the Ministry.  They will reflect their love of God through their words and actions in church as well as out.  They will meet all the requirements outlined for participation and have successfully been placed by Dance Leader based on outlined criteria.  Members of this performance team will be utilized to Minister for Youth Service, Sunday  Morning services as well as at outside events and other church programs
Soldiers for Christ: boys and girls age 10 and up.  This group will utilize drill/step technique to minister as well as biblical references and military formations.  This group will concentrate tying their testimonies and relationship into songs and routines that will directly impact and affect others, so as to create an opportunity for the word to penetrate and call to repentance.

Requirements for participation in Selah Dance Ministry:
1. Possess a passion to serve & worship God. (Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children.  Eph. 5:1)
2. You must be Saved and living Holy (For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13)
3. Have a strong prayer life, evident through your actions (But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathens do: for they think they shall be heard for their much speaking.  St. Matthew 6:7)
4. Accountability and faithfulness (Let a man so account on us.that a man be found faithful.  I Cor 4: 1-2)
5. Time commitment for practices, meetings and events
6. Attendance at Sunday School, bible study and Friday night prayer and regular and active participation in service, praise and worship.
7. Ability to openly pray a sincere and meaningful prayer.  But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathens do: for they think they shall be heard for their much speaking.  St. Matthew 6:7
8. Approval to participate by Dance Leader

Practices:
All practices held at Born Again Church of God in Christ, 4071 Dupree Rd. Auburndale Florida, unless otherwise stated by Ministry Director
Weekly practices on Thursdays as follows: 5pm Nevaeh, 6pm Spirit of Praise, 7 pm Women of Worship
Monthly practice 2nd Sunday of the month for Spirit of Praise 2:30-5:30 (between services)

Session IV begins Sept. 8, 2011   Informational/interest meeting will be on Thursday Sept. 1, 2011 at 7pm

Financial Responsibility of Participant:
$35.00 Annual Registration (Sept - June) due Sept. 1, 2011
$20.00 monthly tuition begin Sept. 8, 2011
$60.00 Women of Worship Uniform
